Lab-grown diamond
engagement rings

Azure Chic lab-grown diamond engagement rings start from €370, set in solid 9k, 14k or 18k gold with a D colour, VVS2 clarity lab-grown diamond. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, physically and chemically the same as mined ones, at a fraction of the price: a 1.00 ct six-prong solitaire in 14k gold is €1,370 lab-grown, against €9,680 with a natural G/VS2 diamond.

The engagement ring buying guide

The 4 Cs: cut, colour, clarity and carat

Carat is the diamond’s weight, and the biggest driver of price. A 1.00 ct round diamond measures about 6.5 mm across; 0.50 ct is about 5.2 mm. “ct tw” (total weight) adds up every diamond in the ring.

Colour is graded from D (colourless) to Z. We offer D, F and G natural diamonds and D colour lab-grown diamonds. G is “near colourless” and looks bright white once set, which makes it the best value.

Clarity describes tiny natural marks inside the stone. VVS2 (very, very slightly included) and VS2 (very slightly included) diamonds look clean to the naked eye. SI (slightly included) is the most affordable natural grade.

Cut is how well the diamond is shaped and polished to return light. It’s what makes a diamond sparkle, which is why a well-cut smaller stone can outshine a larger one.

Popular engagement ring styles

Solitaire: a single diamond on a plain band, the timeless choice. A six-prong setting like the Thalia holds the stone securely and makes it look rounder; four prongs, like the Kyra, show more of the diamond.

Halo: a ring of small diamonds around the centre stone makes it look larger and adds sparkle, as on the Halia.

Pavé and station bands: small diamonds set along the band, like the Irene and Asteri, for sparkle from every angle.

Split shank, cluster and side stones: statement designs for a fancy-shaped diamond, such as the Kalypso, Asteria and Ariadne.

White, yellow or rose gold?

Every ring is made in solid gold in all three colours. White gold makes a diamond look its whitest and suits a classic, modern look. Yellow gold is warm and traditional and is having a big revival. Rose gold is romantic and flatters every skin tone. If she already wears gold jewellery, match the colour she reaches for most.

Diamond type, grade and certificates

The diamond type (natural or lab-grown) and its colour and clarity grade are stated on every product page and on your order. Rings marked “Certified” are supplied with a diamond grading certificate.

When should you order for a proposal?

Engagement rings are dispatched within 3 business days, then delivered free, insured and tracked. Ordering two to three weeks before the big day gives you time to check the ring, and to exchange the size if you need to.

How to care for an engagement ring

Take it off at the gym, for swimming and when using cleaning products. Clean it at home with warm water, a drop of mild washing-up liquid and a soft toothbrush, then dry it with a lint-free cloth. Have the prongs checked by a jeweller once a year so the diamond stays secure.

Lab-grown engagement ring questions

How much does an engagement ring cost at Azure Chic?+

Engagement rings start from €370 in solid gold with a real lab-grown diamond. The price depends on the diamond's size, type and grade and the gold purity; for example, a 1.00 ct solitaire in 14k gold is €1,370 with a lab-grown diamond or €9,680 with a natural G/VS2 diamond. Every price on the product page updates as you choose.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?+

Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds: the same carbon crystal, hardness and sparkle as natural diamonds, and you can't tell them apart by eye. They're grown in weeks rather than formed over billions of years, which is why they cost less for the same size and quality. The diamond type is always stated on the product page and your order.

Natural or lab-grown: which should I choose for an engagement ring?+

Choose a natural diamond if rarity and tradition matter most to you. Choose lab-grown if you want the biggest, whitest stone for your budget. Both are equally durable for everyday wear.

What if I don't know her ring size?+

Borrow a ring she wears on that finger and measure its inside diameter, or ask a close friend or family member. Our ring size guide converts millimetres to EU sizes 48–62 and US sizes. Rings must not have been resized to be returned.

Which gold is best for an engagement ring?+

14k gold (58.5% pure gold) is the most popular choice for engagement rings: durable enough for everyday wear with a rich colour. 18k (75%) has the deepest colour; 9k (37.5%) is the hardest-wearing and most affordable. Every ring comes in white, yellow or rose gold.

How long does delivery take, and can I return the ring?+

Engagement rings are dispatched within 3 business days with free insured, tracked shipping worldwide. If it isn't right, you can return it within 30 days, unworn and not resized.
