Materials

We founded Azurechic on the belief that making fine jewellery doesn’t have to come at the cost of our values, our communities, or our planet. We believe true sustainability is about transparently addressing both impacts on the environment and on the people in our ecosystem.

For that reason, we strike a balance between recycled and fairly mined materials that support communities dependent on the industry. Traceability is important because it allows us to validate the authenticity of the material and improve the social and environmental impacts of our pieces. As we grow globally and expand our networks, maximizing the transparency and traceability of our supply chain is our ultimate goal.

Sterling Silver

925 Sterling Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. We sometimes plate our silver jewellery in rhodium for extra shine and durability. Rhodium is one of the costliest precious metals due to its rarity.

Care
Remove your jewellery before exercising, washing your hands or showering. Always apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing. To clean, polish gently with a silver cloth. Store in a safe, dry place when not worn.

18k Gold Vermeil

Pronounced “ver-may.” Not to be confused with regular gold plating, our gold vermeil is 18k gold that is a minimum of 2.5 microns thick, and layered over sterling silver

Care
Remove your jewellery before exercising, washing your hands or showering. Always apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing. To clean, buff gently with a dry cloth. Store in a safe, dry place when not worn.

Freshwater Pearls

We carefully select cultured pearls from oysters and freshwater mussels. Pearls are sensitive in nature, so avoid chemicals or excessive temperatures.

Care
Pearls should be the last thing you put on before going out and the first thing you take off when you come home. For routine care, wipe culture pearls with a soft, clean cloth after each wear. Avoid direct contact with chemicals found in perfume or other cosmetics. Store individually in a safe, dry place when not worn.
